Plein Air Painting out-of-doors is fun because of its opportunities to interact with passersby and hear their comments. Sometimes I paint on chilly and windy days when the atmosphere of the Bay Area is clear and the humidity levels are low. Along the coast the moist ocean air changes the view to rounder values and hues. I love the California landscape all the year for its vivid yellow-green grasses in winter and golden hillsides of the summer's dried grasses.
